HI Makerspace: Spring Semester 2026

Humanities Institute MakerSpace

Announcing the launch of the Humanities Institute Makerspace! On select afternoons this academic year, 198 Hagerty Hall will be open for drop-in art-making. Led by a rotating list of co-sponsors, the maker space will offer projects and materials in a variety of media, with projects reflecting the content and interests of our centers and other humanities affiliates. New this semester: HI MS will travel to locations around the Oval to co-host maker activities with our campus partners.

Makerspace events are free, open to everyone and welcoming to all. No registration is required- drop in and make art in your own time.

Dates and themes for SP26 are as follows:

Tuesday, February 3: Valentine cards and bookmarks with the Thompson Library Brain Break team at Thompson Library, part of the ongoing "Brain Break" series at OSU Libraries.

Friday, February 13: Celebrate the Lunar New Year by creating Spring Festival Couplets (chunlian) with the Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures in 020 Page Hall.

Thursday, March 5: Crepe paper flower headbands and garlands at the Wexner Center for the Arts.

Tuesday, March 24: The Thompson Library Brain Break Team will travel to 198 Hagerty Hall. Project TBD.

Friday, April 24: The Wexner Center for the Arts Community Studio will travel to 198 Hagerty. Project TBD.
