Announcing the return of the Humanities Institute Makerspace! On select afternoons this semester, The entryway of Hagerty Hall and the adjacent 198 suite will serve as a free, self-led drop-in art studio. The makerspace will offer projects and materials in a variety of media, with projects reflecting the content and interests of our centers and affiliates. All events are held from 1 to 4 pm.
New this year: our public hallway location, plus our 198 classroom space. With music and other festive touches! We'll have more room to spread out and meet up with friends. You don't have to make anything: just hang out!
The HI Makerspace is a drop-in, self-led art studio for the OSU community and beyond! Students, faculty, staff and members of the greater Columbus community are all invited to stop by and make something at your own pace. Each month will feature a different theme or set of materials, and we'll have general art supplies on hand so you can see where your creativity leads you.
December will feature holiday and winter-themed papercrafts, including greeting cards, garlands and more. Learn about the folkloric monsters of the winter season and make cards, gift tags and bookmarks about these mystical creatures! Krampus, Frau Perchta, Yeti and more- plus other holiday and winter-themed projects with traditional (non monstrous) materials.

The Humanities Institute and its related centers host a wide range of events, from intense discussions of works in progress to cutting-edge presentations from world-renowned scholars, artists, activists and everything in between.
