The centers of the Humanities Institute offer a number of scholarships, awards and other funding opportunities for graduate and undergraduate students throughout the academic year. Deadlines are approaching for the following programs: click through to each center's funding page for more information and the complete application. 

 

Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies: Nicholas G. Howe Travel Grants

Travel funding is available for graduate students working on any aspect of the Middle Ages or Renaissance. Currently enrolled students traveling to appropriate research repositories or conferences/seminars are invited to apply through the Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies. The application deadline is March 3. Find more information here. 

 

Center for the Study of Religion: Robert L. and Phyllis J. Iles Award For Graduate Study of Myth

The Center for the Study of Religion awards up to $4000 to a graduate student in the Arts and Humanities who is working on myth, broadly conceived. Studies of myth from any culture in any period of human history are eligible for consideration. For the purposes of this award, a “myth” is “a story that is sacred to and shared by a group of people who find important meaning in it, as conveyed through narrative, art or ritual.”  The application deadline is February 17Find more information here. 

 

Melton Center for Jewish Studies: Annual Scholarships and Awards

The Melton Center for Jewish Studies offers scholarships, grants and awards to undergraduate students, graduate students and faculty. The purpose of these funding opportunities is to reward and encourage excellence in Jewish studies. A variety of funding is available. The application deadline for 2023 is February 27.  Find more information here.
