Faculty, staff and students are invited to reserve Humanities Institute rooms: the conference room in the 455 suite or the classroom in 198. The conference room seats at least 12 people seated at tables, with a whiteboard and projection screen. There also is a galley kitchen nearby. The classroom in 198 seats at least 14 with tables, and approximately 30 seats are possible with theater seating (you must set up the room and return it to its default settings when your event is complete).
Reservations will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. You will be notified via email if the time you requested is available. Available times for reservations are during the business hours of the Humanities Institute, 9 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. Note that scheduled classes and Humanities Institute events and activities take precedence in room reservations.
The person requesting the room is responsible for cleaning it when finished and leaving it as you found it. This includes cleaning the whiteboard, removing trash, wiping the tables, picking up debris off the floor and cleaning the kitchen, if used. Tables and chairs must be returned to the default "O" setting, with any extra chairs stored in the corner of the room.
Notes on tech equipment: there is the flat screen monitor and HDMI hookup available, but no computer or webcam in the room. An OWL videoconferencing camera can be loaned upon request if available. HI staff will not be available for tech assistance or to set up the room.
Please email huminst@osu.edu for questions regarding the current room schedule.
