The Humanities Institute is pleased to welcome Dr. LaVaughn Henry of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland to speak as part of The Debt Burden discussion series. Dr. Henry will speak about “What’s the Fed Doing? Consumer Debt and the Mandate for Full Employment” on Weds, March 5 at 4pm in the Interfaith Room of the Ohio Union, 1739 N. High Street.

Dr. Henry is Vice President and senior regional officer of the Cincinnati Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland. Dr. Henry has worked for the Budget Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Federal Housing Finance Agency, the FDIC’s Resolution Trust Corporation, and PriceWaterhouseCoopers, where he led consulting engagements with the Federal Housing Administration.

The Debt Burden is a semester-long series of lectures, discussions and workshops exploring the implications of current levels of private and public debt, sponsored by the Humanities Institute as part of this year’s COMPAS (Conversations in Morality, Politics and Society) theme Public/Private.  Dr. Henry’s visit is co-sponsored by the Glenn School and CURA (Center for Urban and Regional Analysis).  For more information, please contact Rick Livingston (Livingston.28@osu.edu) or Devin Fergus (Fergus.24@osu.edu).
