Join us on a select Friday each month for a casual gathering with the humanities community. “What the….? Fridays” coffee chats are conceived as opportunities to gather and assess current conditions in an informal yet informed manner.
In the context of what's going on in the world, let’s take some time to share our understandings of big issues and brainstorm ideas for how to uphold the best values of our work.
The topic for October will be “artificial intelligence”—a subject that is top of mind here at Ohio State, with significant implications for our teaching and research. What challenges does this new technology pose to our work in the humanities? What emergent opportunities do we discern in this moment of social and technological transformation? We’ll discuss these questions and more, with a spirit of open inquiry and critical interest—encouraged, as always, by a strong cup of coffee and a delicious pastry or two. Come and join us!
Coffee, tea and pastries will be served. This event is free, open to the public and welcoming to everyone.
