Studio 35 Cinema & Drafthouse

The Studio 35 Cinema & Drafthouse will partner with the Humanities Institute to host a screening of Ivans Xtc with actor and director Peter Weller hosting a Q+A. Dr. Peter Weller is best known for his role in the original RoboCop. Don't miss your chance to meet this iconic Hollywood star!

Ivans Xtc is a modern retelling of Lev Tolstoy's The Death of Ivan Ilyich. Set in Hollywood, the film follows a high-powered agent whose life spirals after the overdose death of his colleague and friend Ivan Beckman. As Ivan’s world of ambition, addiction and moral compromise is revealed through flashbacks, the film critiques the excess and emptiness of the entertainment industry. Ultimately, it paints a stark portrait of Hollywood’s destructive pressures and the human cost behind its glamour.
