Announcing the launch of the Humanities Institute Makerspace! On select Fridays this academic year, 198 Hagerty Hall will be open for drop-in art-making. Led by a rotating list of co-sponsors, the maker space will offer projects and materials in a variety of media, with projects reflecting the content and interests of our centers and other humanities affiliates.
October will feature the folklore of Halloween, with "Scare Mail," cryptid buttons, cootie catchers and other spooky-themed crafts, co-hosted by the Folklore Student Association. Learn about the history of Halloween divination, the tradition of Halloween greeting cards, design your own cryptid badge and more!
Maker Space events are free, open to everyone and welcoming to all.
For more information, or if you are interested in co-hosting an upcoming Friday, email Megan Moriarty, Marketing and Communications Specialist for the Humanities Institute.
